It is virtually impossible to arrive at a precise figure concerning the economic loss caused by the attack of wood destroying insects to a home. One statement now most often quoted is that it costs the public approximately 1.5 billion dollars per year for the prevention and control of subterranean termites alone! Is it any wonder that banks, mortgage companies, and other lending institutions almost always require a Wood Destroying Insect Inspection on a real estate transaction? Government backed mortgages e.g.: FHA or VA loans further require the W.D. I. inspection to be reported on a HUD approved form and generally by a licensed pest control company. In order to best protect our clients, Keystone Inspection Service reports all of it's Wood Destroying Insect Inspections on the approved HUD form. |
